With rapid adoption of cloud solutions, the traditional networking channel landscape in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) would undergo changes beyond recognition, says a new study from International Data Corporation (IDC).

The research firm, in its report entitled ‘The Evolving Cloud Impact on the Networking Channel Market in EMEA,’ says that the networking channel market in EMEA is constantly evolving, powered by new technologies, changing customer demands, an alternate vendor background and an uncertain economy.

In this scenario, the "cloud concept," which spans shared access to virtualised resources over the Internet, is becoming more important for organisations, IDC adds.

Sylvia Wünsche research analyst European Telecommunications and Networking said the broad interest in cloud computing is understandable, considering that it enables IT organisations to become more cost-efficient and agile – for example, by centralising their applications, servers, data, and storage resources, and dynamically moving their resources, or virtual machines.
