Rackspace unveils new managed cloud hosting

Proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and guidance on how to leverage cloud computing

By CBR Staff Writer

Rackspace Hosting, a provider of hosting and cloud computing services, has unveiled a new category in hosting – managed cloud.

The managed cloud offering is Cloud Servers with a managed service level, providing businesses with proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and guidance on how to leverage cloud computing.

The company is expanding its Fanatical Support into the cloud, by integrating its 24x7x365 managed service level with its on-demand Cloud Servers offering.

Rackspace said the service offering is designed for companies that want to transition to a cloud environment for on-demand availability, flexibility and scalability, but lack internal cloud expertise.

The new offering will use dedicated teams to provide OS Support and Application Level Support, and guidance on how to leverage the cloud.

Rackspace said that the managed cloud features include 24x7x365 rapid response to monitoring alerts that are sent to customers and the Rackspace support team; key OS and application infrastructure support; technical guidance; and Admin level access to cloud servers.
