Quest Software, a US-based provider of IT management offerings, has unveiled the new version of its vFoglight, which delivers extended hypervisor support for both VMware ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V, and application infrastructure management for Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
The new version vFoglight 6.5 provides increased automation of virtual infrastructures, delivering virtualisation by simplifying VMware management to increase efficiency to drive lower costs, the company said.
vFoglight 6.5 includes new features and enhancements, such as event remediation for enabling administrators to view alarms and launch automated resolution workflows, and user perspectives for providing administrators with tailored views.
It also provides administration for saving time and improving administration by empowering administrators to perform common VM tasks, and enhanced FAQts to provide additional factual information about the dynamic infrastructure to administrators and stakeholders.
This new release of vFoglight 6.5 leads a suite of virtual infrastructure monitoring solutions that include vFoglight Storage for physical storage monitoring and vFoglight QuickView, a free solution for performance VMware monitoring and management of a single vCenter server.
Quest Software Virtualisation Management and Monitoring vice president and general manager Carl Eberling said above and beyond other products on the market, vFoglight has been developed to maximise performance, speed problem resolution and ensure capacity across heterogeneous virtual, physical, and cloud infrastructures.
IDC system management software research director Mary Johnston Turner said vFoglight 6.5 directly targets requirement for effective virtualised data centre operations for more integrated and automated workflows plus real time end-to-end performance visibility to adequately manage these resources.
