Quest Software has introduced two comprehensive product suites: Total Virtual Data Protection (TVDP) and Virtual Infrastructure Assurance, which are designed to protect and manage the entire virtualised environment.

The company said, TVDP suites are comprehensive VMware data protection offerings that can protect entire VMware environments including Microsoft applications (SQL Server, Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint).

In addition, the TVDP suites combine VMware protection with recovery capabilities for Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint and Active Directory. The feature delivers complete protection — across virtual machines, files and critical applications, enabling organisations to virtualise faster, the company said.

The TVDP suite also includes vRanger and the Recovery Manger family, while the TVDP Database Edition suite includes vRanger and the Recovery Manger family, plus LiteSpeed for SQL Server.

Quest’s second offering — Virtual Infrastructure Assurance suite — provides monitoring, storage and network management capabilities.

The suite’s virtual infrastructure monitoring capabilities offer an added layer of depth to the customer’s existing monitoring programs, and all the tools necessary to assure the viability of the entire virtualised environment.

The Virtual Infrastructure Assurance suite includes vFoglight Pro – Quest’s offering for visibility into VMware ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V environments, in combination with vFoglight Storage, vOptimiser and/or Foglight Network Management System (NMS).

Quest Software virtualisation and monitoring vice-president and general manager Carl Eberling said as virtualisation becomes more widespread and customers look to extend their virtual infrastructures to include critical applications and infrastructure components, they need to know the data protection and management tools they have in place will ensure optimal performance and protection.
