Qualys, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider and security company, has released QualysGuard WAS 2.0 that allows scanning of large numbers of Web applications.
The new version simplifies the complexity and reduces costs of Web application scanning with an intuitive, easy-to-use automated tool, said the company.
It added that the new tool comes with an extremely low false positive rate and a rich dynamic user interface (UI).
QualysGuard WAS 2.0 has been in beta for the past six months and will be showcased at Black Hat USA 2011.
The company said that QualysGuard WAS 2.0 provides: comprehensive coverage of Web application vulnerabilities, and a granular access management with customised user roles.
Qualys chairman and CEO Philippe Courtot said as companies continue to move their applications and processes into the cloud, Web application security now has become a major target for cyber attacks.
"Automation is key to combat such advanced persistent threats. It starts with the ability to discover and analyze every web application no matter where they reside or where they are coming from. QualysGuard WAS 2.0 helps organisations address this challenge at a cost they can afford," said Courtot.
