Q1 Labs, a global provider of total security intelligence offerings, and F5 Networks, a provider of application delivery networking, have entered into a technology partnership, to combine Q1 Labs’ Security Intelligence Platform and F5 BIG-IP products for providing customers with context information from their applications and networks.

As per the agreement, Q1 Labs will join F5 Networks’ Technology Alliance Program (TAP) to gain access to F5’s technology offerings and resources, which will enhance the value of deploying the companies’ products together.

The company said that the Security Intelligence Platform’s native application monitoring capabilities provide visibility of applications including Voice over IP (VoIP), Multimedia, ERP and database monitoring.

In addition, the Security Intelligence Platform delivers a detailed application level context that, when correlated with network and security events, provides an advanced analysis of the overall security posture of the entire enterprise or organisation.

Q1 Labs said that the content thus captured provides forensic data and evidence for analysing the impact of threats including the potential data leakage.

F5 Networks application partner programs vice president Calvin Rowland said that their ongoing goal is to partner with companies whose technologies complement theirs, in an effort to help customers get the most from their IT investments.

"The Q1 Labs Security Intelligence Platform provides an additional layer of visibility, improving customers’ ability to tailor application and network resources and maximise efficiency," Rowland said.

"Through the TAP partnership, F5 promotes assured interoperability and continued innovation with Q1 Labs, and provides a framework for ongoing collaboration."
