Prolexic Technologies is looking to expand its DDoS mitigation platform and develop new security solutions after securing US$30 million of funding.
The Florida-based company said the funding, led by Trident Capital and Intel Capital, follows two of the largest DDOS attacks experienced by the industry.
The Florida-based company, which is the first cloud-based DDoS mitigation platform, said it would use the funding to expand its scrubbing centre services.
Scott Hammack, CEO of Prolexic, said: "With this additional funding, we will be able to accelerate a number of strategic initiatives as we continue to expand our portfolio of cloud-based products and industry-leading DDoS protection services."
Prolexic, which operates four scrubbing centers in London, Hong Kong, San Jose and Ashburn, also appointed Trident Capital’s managing director Gustavo Alberelli to its board of directors.
Prolexic, founded in 2003, saw its revenues increase by 65% last year.
