PrismTech said that it will work with GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, to develop and market a COTS platform for developers of software communications architecture (SCA)-compliant waveforms and radios.
The company said that the new platform will combine its COTS SCA software and GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms’ CompactPCI hardware, and will provide a COTS SCA offering for developers of SDRs.
According to PrismTech, the new platform will provide GPP, DSP, FPGA resources; Spectra OE, and Spectra CX component modeling, code generation and SCA-compliance validation tool; RF/IF interfaces with a minimum 10MHz bandwidth, using standard 10.7, 70, 140 or 160MHz IF; and FPGA resources to provide IF processing functions, data formatting, switching etc.
PrismTech said that the jointly-developed platform will provide a development environment for the SDR development lab, which include waveform and platform modeling, SCA code generation and compliance testing, code deployment, and target monitoring and management, with application code portability assured through SCA compliance.
In addition, it also provides a potential deployment platform with the quality and ruggedness necessary to support field applications, the company said.
Steve Jennis, SVP of corporate development at PrismTech, said: “The SDR development community has been looking for some time for a combination of COTS hardware and COTS SCA software to provide off-the-shelf development systems that feature the functionality and performance they need. PrismTech and GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms will deliver this combination.”
