Platinum Protection has released a new application for BlackBerry and iPhone devices that allows homeowners to remotely arm and disarm their security system, and monitor their homes through live video streamed directly to their phone.

Platinum Protection said that the new app also enables users to remotely adjust pan-tilt cameras and review stored video footage.

The company said that in case of a break in, the system will automatically record a video clip of the perpetrator and send homeowner a text message notification about the alarm’s status. Once a homeowner receives the notification, they can open the application on their phone and view the saved video clip after the break in occurred.

Reportedly, the new application works in conjunction with the company’s web-based service called Platinum Interactive. Using the online interface, customers can control the type of text message and email notifications they want to receive.

Chance Allred, partner of Platinum Protection, said: Using this advanced technology, customers can keep track of homes, vacation properties, and even view children and pets in real time. Users can program the system from their phone, turn it off for visiting relatives, or arm the system after leaving their home.

80% of new sales are tied to cellular lines rather than landlines which means in the event of an intruder, fire, flood or another event where a landline might not function, our wireless service will alert customers and the appropriate authorities.
