Plastic Logic said that Olive Software will be the service provider and partner for its Publishers Program. Together, Olive Software and Plastic Logic are developing content publishing offering that enable newspapers, magazines, web content and other publishers to distribute their content for the company’s eReader.

The Plastic Logic Reader is an electronic reader designed for the mobile business professionals. The Wi-Fi and 3G enabled new device is suitable for business professionals to keep up to date on information and to read and review multiple documents while on the go, Plastic Logic said.

The company said that the new device will connect its users with their desired business and professional newspapers, books, periodicals and magazine content and will support the document formats business users need, including PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents.

The company has entered into a strategic commerce and content partnership with Barnes & Noble, which enables the eBookstore for its eReader.

In addition, Plastic Logic also has announced key strategic publishing relationships with the Financial Times, USA TODAY and the Detroit Media Partnership, which manages the business functions for Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News.

Daren Benzi, VP of business development at Plastic Logic, said: “We’re very focused on helping our publishing partners create unique reading experiences for the Plastic Logic Reader, and Olive is a valuable partner with us in achieving that goal. We are excited to have them as a strategic content production partner.”
