Paid has revealed that it has integrated its AuctionInc ecommerce software product line with Google Checkout as one more payment option on its ShopCart shopping cart software for e-commerce vendors. The Google Checkout option is live now on ShopCart.

The company claimed that integration with Google Checkout enables customers to make online purchases without having to give the vendor sensitive payment and personal data.

The Google Checkout platform reportedly stores the customers’ credit card numbers and shipping information, plus offers fraud protection, providing internet shopping for customers of vendors choosing to offer the Google Checkout option.

Also, a unified page is said to track a customer’s purchases and status on all Google Checkout-compatible merchants – an additional feature for customers shopping on multiple sites.

The company said that current AuctionInc customers will be able to use Google Checkout on ShopCart by changing their checkout options. The customer can also continue to use PayPal for checkout, or even offer both options.

Doug Sherman, product manager of AuctionInc, said: “Our integration with Google Checkout allows merchants to offer their shoppers another safe, user-friendly payment option that streamlines the shopping process for both the consumer and merchant. For ecommerce vendors, simply being able to display the Google Checkout icon in all of their Google AdWords will often drive business from customers who prefer this secure payment method.
