PacketVideo (PV) has unveiled its new Twonky Mobile Android app, which allows users to play and share media directly from the phone with the push of a button.

The company said that with the new app, users can stream personal and online media from the phone to any Web-connected gadget or device.

Twonky Mobile lets users have on-the-go access to their media without being tethered to a PC or requiring cables to connect to devices.

The new app remembers users preferences for each network they connect to – distinguishing whether they are connected to their home or work network.

Additionally, Twonky’s auto-copy feature lets users opt to have the media on their phone automatically copied to their PC or MAC.

PacketVideo CTO Osama Alshaykh said, they have designed Twonky Mobile to be easy and intuitive for anyone to use.

The company said that Twonky Mobile for Android is available in the Android Store and will be free for a limited time, starting in January 2011, the app will be $2.99.
