Orca Interactive, a provider of IPTV middleware and content discovery offerings, has unveiled COMPASS TRAX, a new module of its content discovery platform, COMPASS, that allows users to explore content, based on an array of ‘content tracks’.

The company said that the users can select their personal preferences in COMPASS TRAX, which will enable them to view the content through different lenses, based on social input, personal preferences, special offers, popular options, and up-to-date information.

The new module offered both as on Premise and as a Cloud based SaaS, which makes it scalable and suitable for small and large deployments.

COMPASS TRAX can also be integrated with value chain partners to enrich the user experience through metadata and web based information for both web and premium content.

Orca Interactive sales and marketing vice president Sefy Ariely said that using COMPASS TRAX, Pay-TV operators will be able to position themselves as the ‘go to’ gateway for any type of content, whether it is within their ‘walled garden’ or available over the web.

"In the new age of content ubiquity, new revenue opportunities will come from captivating the attention of the viewers and controlling the way to the content, rather than controlling the content itself," Ariely said.
