Orange and Nokia have launched a new integrated Ovi service, which widens the developer ecosystem and provides Orange customers using Nokia handsets easier access to more content.
The Nokia’s Ovi Store with Orange will be accessible by it’s customers in the UK and France in 2011.
Orange is integrating Ovi content with its apps from the Orange Application Shop to provide customers with simpler and secure access to an array of content and services.
Further, Orange and Nokia collaborated to create a single sign-on for customers on an array of new handsets that simplifies the registration and purchasing process.
Using single sing-on users who purchase a Nokia device in the Orange Signature range will have access to a range of local content and apps, sourced through the Orange developer community, and accessible through the Ovi Store with Orange; and customers will be able to buy any app from the Ovi Store on their Orange bill.
Nokia vice president of media Marco Argenti said that the company data shows that two out of every three Ovi Store users choose the simplicity of operator billing when purchasing content.
