Oracle has introduced comprehensive business-driven IT management tool, Enterprise Manager 11g, to enable companies maximise business agility and productivity through an integrated approach to IT management.

Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g features business-driven application management for prioritising and delivering business value; integrated application-to-disk management to simplify IT management; and integrated systems management and support for more efficient IT operations, the company said.

According to Oracle, the new tool enables improved business productivity, and helps IT to fuel business innovation and growth through user experience management, business transaction management and business service management.

Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g also features the new release 6.5 of Oracle Real User Experience Insight, which provides performance and usage statistics for real and synthetic transactions, as well as integrated diagnostics for Oracle’s Siebel CRM, the Oracle E-Business Suite, and Java technology-based applications – all accessible from a single console.

The company claims that the enterprise manager can completely manage Oracle stack, including tools to manage Oracle Applications, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Database, Oracle Solaris, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Oracle VM, and Oracle’s Sun Servers.

The new tool also provide comprehensive middleware management; new database management capabilities with full support for Oracle Database 11g Release 2; extensive hardware, virtualisation and operating system management; and application quality management.

In addition, the new enterprise manager includes smart configuration management for complete configuration lifecycle management; automated workflow for the selection, validation and deployment of patches across the entire IT environment; and community-based console for facilitating best practice sharing and knowledge exchange.
