Oracle has introduced the Communications Data Model, which it says will help communications service providers (CSPs) manage and analyse data volume.

The company claims that its new Communications Data Model enables CSPs to achieve rapid time to value by implementing a standards-based enterprise data warehouse that features communications industry-specific reporting, analytics and data mining.

According to Oracle, its new offering provides industry-specific schema and embedded analytics that address key areas such as customer management, marketing segmentation, product development and network health. It embeds OLAP cubes for dimensional analysis of business information; and data mining models for trending and predictive analysis.

Using the 1,300 plus industry-specific measurements and key performance indicators (KPIs) such as network reliability statistics, provisioning metrics and customer churn propensity, CSPs can capture and monitor data and transform it into actionable information to support development and delivery of next-generation services using, Oracle said.

Optimised for any Database 11g platform, Communications Data Model provides support for multiple lines of business, such as cable, mobile, wireline and internet; and enables CSPs to jump start the implementation of a communications data warehouse in line with communications-industry standards including the TM Forum Information Framework (SID), the company said.
