It said Oracle Role Manager enables business users to manage business roles by utilizing statistical analysis, administrative automation tools, and a flexible design interface. It includes a role-governance framework, design interface, multi-dimensional hierarchies, and application-centric identity management. It also offers event-based role services and XML-based service integration.
Hasan Rizvi, vice president of identity-management and security products at Oracle, said: The new release of Oracle Role Manager provides customers with automated tools to mine and model roles and to efficiently manage multiple interrelated hierarchies across diverse IT systems on an ongoing basis.
Oracle entered the identity management market three years ago with the acquisition of Thor Technologies. This acquisition was followed by its acquisition of Oblix to support federation and access management, and OctatString to add virtual directory technology.
Earlier this month, it introduced Authentication Services for operating systems, and in February it launched a new version of its Identity Manager software.
