Oracle has agreed to acquire Passlogix, a provider of enterprise single sign-on (ESSO) offerings.

Passlogix products allows organisations improve and simplify security by enabling SSO for an array of applications including client-server, mainframe and web-based applications.

Oracle said that the acquisition will enable it to provide enterprises with a complete identity management offering to advance their identity management, compliance and authentication initiatives with tighter integration capabilities.

Oracle identity management vice president Amit Jasuja said, Passlogix and Oracle have had a successful OEM relationship for more than three years and have many of the same customers.

"With the addition of Passlogix, we expect to provide a complete enterprise-scale identity management offering and be able to provide more global reach and support resources to customers," Jasuja said.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The company expects to close the deal by this year end.
