Oracle is continuing its legal battle against Rimini Street.

Big Red has asked for a permanent injunction against Rimini Street that would restrict the company from, ‘continuing its practice of copyright infringement and violations of state laws protecting computer systems,’ said Oracle.

Oracle was recently awarded $50 million in damages against Rimini Street and its CEO Seth Ravin, with the jury concluding that Rimini and Ravin has built a business through the unauthorised downloading and copying of Oracle software and support materials.

The copyright case, which ended in a win for Oracle on the 13th October, has been swiftly followed by this permanent injunction.

The legal battles between the two companies started in 2010, when a previous company set up by Ravin, TomorrowNow was targeted by Oracle.

Rimini Street provides third-party SAP support services.
