Oracle has released a new tool Communications Network Charging and Control 4.4 for communications service providers (CSPs) to offer their customers flexible charging options and create new revenue streams.

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control 4.4 offers a number of features – including multi-network prepaid charging, voucher recharge, promotions management, Intelligent Network (IN) and Next Generation Network (NGN)-based service control and graphical service configuration, said Oracle.

The new tool also comes with integrated number routing and messaging services – to enable CSPs to launch new services and charge subscribers for different offerings.

The comapny said Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control 4.4 provides: configurable budget controls; advanced reservation management; and prorated service payments.

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control 4.4 maximises operator brand exposure and helps CSPs monetise social relationships, said teh company.

It said the tool helps CSPs exploit the viral marketing effect of social media through: an innovative social network-aware charging and promotions framework; an open and secure Web 2.0 framework; and centralised graphical promotions and user segmentation management.

Oracle Communications vice president of products Liam Maxwell said the proliferation of consumer-friendly, IP-enabled multimedia devices, coupled with easy access to wireless broadband, has spurred an explosion in new mobile services.

"Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control 4.4 helps communications service providers quickly deliver innovative new services, charge for them, and thrive in the smartphone revolution," Maxwell added.

The product release includes a complete stack of software, hardware and support from Oracle.
