Oracle introduces Entitlements Server 11g

Provides scalable, externalised authorisation management offering for applications, middleware and databases

By CBR Staff Writer

Oracle has introduced Entitlements Server 11g, which is a key component of its Fusion Middleware 11g.

The Entitlements Server 11g delivers scalable, externalised authorisation management offering for applications, middleware and databases and provides developers with shared services for authorisation to ensure compliance and business agility, said the company.

The offering externalises authorisations and entitlements from applications, thus helping organisations to centrally manage entitlements, provide a central view of access rights across applications in the enterprise and audit applications to track application access and use, the company said.

In addition, the offering is integrated with Oracle Platform Security Services, the security foundation for Oracle Fusion Middleware and Fusion Applications.

The offering also extends Oracle’s comprehensive support for security standards including XACML, NIST RBAC, Enterprise RBAC, ABAC, OpenAZ and JAAS.

The Entitlements Server 11g includes: real-time external authorisation; rapid application integration and hot-pluggable; rich policy modeling; autonomous security module; and scalable policy stores.

Oracle identity management vice-president Amit Jasuja said externalising authorisation and application entitlements to create a declarative security model is the next wave of innovation that will help customers reduce risk and enable sustainable security compliance.

"We worked closely with the Oracle Applications teams and large customers to provide high transaction performance and standards flexibility with Oracle Entitlements Server 11g," Jasuja said.
