Norway-based Opera has released its next version of browser for desktop, Opera Version 15, which has been optimised for both Windows and Mac.

Previously called ‘beta’, the new version is made available with new design and features that are claimed to offer easier browsing experience to the users.

The new version of the Opera browser for desktop, which is based on the new Chromium engine version and is said to be standards-compliant.

Opera Software Desktop Products SVP, Krystian Kolondra, said: "Our new browser is more beautiful and allows users to harness the massive amount of web content they are faced with today."

Features of the new browser version include a revamped start page that supports Speed Dial shortcuts as well as drag and drop one Speed Dial entry on top of another to create a folder, while it also offers features to create a collection of websites with one click.

The browser allows the users to search directly from the new combined address and search bar.

With the updated version of the browser, Opera’s Off-Road mode, which was previously called Opera Turbo, supports SPDY protocol that allows faster loading of webpages even if there is a slow network.
