The infamous file storage website Megaupload was recently accused of making more than $175m from illegal file-sharing and Internet piracy.
Associates Finn Batato, 38, of Germany, and Bram van der Kolk, aged 29, secured bail while another accused, Mathias Ortmann, has had his bail application delayed until Friday.
The lawyer of the two men argued that both did not have any fake identities or access to funds, as was the case of Megaupload’s found Kim Dotcom (also known as Schmitz).
Schmitz, 38, was denied bail, with the judge citing the risk that the German would flee the country, using any of the multiple passports he possessed.
The US is seeking extradition of all the four accused, on charges of piracy, racketeering and copyright infringement, in charges indicted by a grand jury in Virginia, US, according to Reuters.
