According to the company, the package is the first in a series of new security services to be offered on a software-as-a-service platform managed by security experts at its Security Operation Center. The center will help customers to strengthen their secure intranets for better IT governance, as well as save security costs through outsourcing.
The basic services of the package include 24/7 alive monitoring, the generation and storage of security logs, analysis and statistical reporting based on these logs, and 24/7 customer support. The security data are collected via a closed network in a secure environment, and then the logs are stored in the company’s data centers.
Optional services include real-time notification of hazardous events, rental of security equipment and a service package covering the total operation of equipment. Installation costs from about JPY170,000 and the monthly fee runs from about JPY60,000 per unified threat management device.
The company plans to incorporate customer feedback in its development of additional services for vulnerability diagnosis, countermeasures for unauthorized access and viruses/worms, and compatibility with a wider range of customer security equipment.
