Novell, a provider of intelligent workload management offerings, has unveiled ZENworks 11, an endpoint management offering, designed to address the rapidly converging markets of PC lifecycle management and endpoint security.
Novell said its ZENworks 11 enables enterprise customers lower the cost and risk of managing devices across physical, virtual, and cloud environments, while simplifying near-term needs such as Windows 7 migrations.
The new offering includes four fully-integrated products in one unified platform – configuration management, endpoint security management, asset management and patch management.
The new platform provides a single, integrated console and agent that enables IT administrators to manage desktops, patch applications, secure endpoints, and track software license compliance.
The features of ZENworks 11 include unified console and agent; identity-based management; location awareness; and power management.
Further, Novell has also unveiled Service Desk, a new product which enables enterprises to centrally manage help desk incidents, improve customer service, and align with industry best practices such as ITIL.
Novell security, management and operating platforms senior vice president and general manager Jim Ebzery said the endpoint management market is growing, with the convergence of IT operations and security continuing to be one of the main drivers for new offerings in the space.
"ZENworks 11, with its identity-based and policy-driven approach, will be key in meeting the demands of users today and in the future by allowing organisations to create intelligent workloads built around identity, compliance policies and management capabilities," Ebzery said.
"This integration allows organisations to seamlessly manage and secure desktops both inside and outside their corporate network."
