Norton has released the new versions of its security products, Norton 360, Norton Internet Security, and Norton AntiVirus which the company said will be compatible with Windows 8 and offer protection to consumers from attacks and scams on social networks.
The new security products claimed to have five patented layers of protection, improved social networking defenses, anti-scam capabilities and improved cloud-enabled features.
Symantec Consumer Business Unit group president Janice Chaffin said one in 10 social network users have fallen victim to a scam or fake link on social network platforms.
"With our latest releases, Norton responds to this and other consumer vulnerabilities with stronger social media and scam protection to ensure consumers are safe in the multi-device, Wi-Fi-enabled world," Chaffin said.
The new releases are claimed to protect consumers from attacks and scams on social networks, such as like jacking, malicious messages, posts and notices on social networks.
Improved networking defenses include a new Intelligent Firewall and the usage of Insight information, which now tracks IP address reputation in addition to file, URL and domain reputation, while the anti-scam capabilities warn users of potentially risky sites that are new.
The products are claimed to minimise startup and shutdown time, reduce power consumption and protect digital media files.
With the Norton new security products, product updates are now downloaded in the background and installed automatically and they doesn’t no require any reboot.
