Software security provider Norton has released the public beta of ‘Norton Identity Safe’, a free, cloud-enabled service, which the company says enables consumers to securely store and synchronise logins, passwords, credit cards, and other Web form information across browsers and devices.
With the new service, consumers will be able to address the complex challenge of keeping their identities secure and protecting their passwords across multiple sites and devices, said the company.
The new Norton tool includes Norton Safe Web protection and provides a secure way to manage passwords across Windows PCs, iOS devices such as iPhone and iPad, and Android devices.
Norton Safe Web protection enables users to secure their online credentials from unsafe websites and performs thorough site analysis to identify security risks.
Norton Identity Safe beta features simplified password management and Safe Search, shows users their logins with thumbnail images, includes Share Via feature that allows users to safely share online content by sending URLs through email and social networking plugins, and provides automatic login synchronisation.
Norton said Identity Safe is available for free download from IdentitySafe-beta.norton.com, and a version of the new tool is also included in Norton Internet Security and Norton 360.
