Nokia has revealed that it will start selling its latest Lumia 928 smartphone via US carrier Verizon Wireless on May 16, 2013, as part of its efforts to boost its share in the high-margin premium market, currently dominated by Samsung and Apple.
Similar to the 920 model currently sold through AT&T, the new 928 smartphone weighs 162g and features an 8.7 megapixel camera and Qualcomm’s 1.5-gigahertz dual core processor.
Powered by Windows Phone 8, the 928 offers improved imaging and video capabilities including distortion-free audio capture through three high-audio-amplitude-capture (HAAC) microphones.
The Windows Phone Store offers about 145,000 apps to its users, while Internet Explorer 10 improves browsing on-the-go and also allows Microsoft Office Mobile integration.
Incorporating PureView imaging innovation, such as optical image stabilisation and Xenon flash to freeze the moment, the device offers 1GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, in addition to 7GB free memory in SkyDrive with further storage via subscription.
