Japan- based optical instruments manufacturer Nikon has selected Symantec’s Clearwell eDiscovery Platform for in-house eDiscovery.

Nikon can now reduce the risks and the overall costs of eDiscovery by leveraging Symantec’s cross-border application that performs early case assessments and first-pass review .

Clearwell eDiscovery Platform will enable Nikon to filter, process, search and analyse data in multiple formats and languages and to also maintain control over sensitive data.

Symantec’s eDiscovery platform is said to provide the flexibility necessary for cross-border eDiscovery cases that are faced by more frequently by Japanese customers, where litigation often demands multi-jurisdictional support and requires data to be processed in Japan and other countries.

Symantec Information Intelligence Group senior director Trevor Eddy said the global impact of litigation is leading corporations around the world to closely evaluate their eDiscovery strategies and take control of escalating costs.

"Through extensive research and development, Symantec’s Clearwell eDiscovery Platform has been built to meet the unique eDiscovery needs of our Japanese customers," said Eddy.
