Citrix has announced a new version of its XenMobile product, designed to increase employee mobile productivity.

The latest iteration includes features such as eliminating the need to enter passcodes to join online meetings or access work applications.

The firm claims the new release also provides simpler and faster deployment options for IT organisations, and that it scales to hundreds of thousands of devices easily.

It is geared to mobile working, with 63% of enterprises surveyed in Citrix’s latest Mobility in Business report citing the trend as the greatest driver of competitiveness with rivals.

Amit Pandey, VP of Mobile Platforms Group at Citrix, said: "Personal and business life are both moving faster. Our new release accelerates mobile productivity by combining unique collaboration features with powerful, but user-friendly security.

"Features like one-touch online meetings are an industry first, and further extend the completeness of our enterprise mobility solution, providing true competitive advantages to our customers using Citrix XenMobile."

A new one touch feature allows users to launch or join web chats directly from their calendar, and Citrix has designed the new release to fit into its ecosystem of applications including GoToMeeting, ShareFile and GoToAssist.

A digital pin is also provided for each user, which gives access to all work apps after combining with user-specific digital certificates.

The new release also integrates and extends support for the new Amazon MDM APIs, iOS 7 MDM APIs, and Samsung KNOX platforms.

Chris Hazelton, research director at Mobile & Wireless at 451 Research, said: "Productivity gains from mobility are driven by intuitive applications that mirror consumer offerings.

"With 59% of IT decision makers wanting more consumer-like features in their business applications, mobile apps that reduce the steps employees need to take to be productive will lead to higher adoption and potential cost savings."
