Netflix signs deal with Turner Broadcasting

The agreements include complete previous season programmes from Cartoon Network, Warner Bros. Animation, Adult Swim

By CBR Staff Writer

Netflix has signed a licensing agreement with Turner Broadcasting System to offer a range of cartoons and other programming through its online video-streaming service.

Under the deals, Netflix will carry out complete past seasons of Cartoon Network shows as Adventure Time, Ben 10, Regular Show, and Johnny Bravo from 30 march 2013.

Netflix will also offer the complete previous seasons of the TNT drama Dallas produced by Warner Horizon Television.

The first two seasons of TNT series "Dallas" will also be available on Netflix in January 2014.

The deals will also cover Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim shows that include Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Boondocks and Childrens Hospital.

Turner Broadcasting senior vice president of programme acquisitions Deborah Bradley said: "The industry has evolved so that TV Everywhere and subscription video on-demand services can coexist with the appropriate windowing strategy, while allowing for more content flexibility to meet consumer demand in the changing digital landscape."

"We’re happy to offer our popular programming to Netflix members, as SVOD services have become another way to grow audiences and can introduce new viewers to our programming," Bradley added.
