By CBR Staff Writer

NEC has selected BMC Software’s Business Service Management (BSM) platform to provide with IT service management capabilities, service delivery and enhanced reporting features.

The company said that it will replace its HP Service Desk environment with BMC Remedy ITSM Suite to provide an integrated and automated IT services platform. It expects to benefit from service catalogue and customer portal, request management and real-time performance and ROI metrics reporting through dashboard style reporting.

NEC’s ICT managed services portfolio includes network design, integration, management and maintenance. It also offers services that are modular, enabling customers to customise, choose and combine elements of its service portfolio to suit their requirements and budgets. The BMC platform will help NEC align its support processes with ITIL v3 compliant processes

David Snapp, executive general manager of managed services group at NEC Australia, said: “NEC is firmly focused on providing exceptional service to our customers. We’ve chosen BMC Software to provide an integrated platform that will offer a broad range of cost effective IT services.

“The BMC Remedy ITSM Suite will reduce complexity and make customer support, change, asset and request management a smoother integrated process. We’ll be able to prioritise activities and focus on critical business services, thus improving response times and performance against our service level agreements.”
