NEC has deployed CA Technologies cloud-ready advanced authentication technology to offer a new scalable security offering as a cloud service.

By integrating the CA ArcotID secure software credential with NEC’s NC7000-3A ID utilisation infrastructure software, as well as the NEC Mobile Security, security countermeasure offering, the new cloud service offers authentication through identity links among multiple NEC websites.

CA ArcotID provides protection for digital identities by delivering two-factor authentication with the simplicity and cost efficiency of a software offering.

The new service will help maintain ease-of-access for customers using smart phones and mobile tablets providing the same level of security as feature phones, while also making it easier to build services utilising multi-device authentication and multiple service identities.

NEC Corporation Carrier Services Operations Unit vice-president and senior general manager Shigeru Okuya said mobility increases the complexity of security and how to control access and use of services and applications.

"When we set out to deliver a cloud service for our customers that made security transparent and easy for their end-users, we chose CA Technologies. The company protects more than 150 million identities with its authentication technology and does it with combined convenience and security – something demanded by customers and end-users," said Okuya.
