Desktop virtualsation firm Ncomputing has introduced a new portfolio of thin clients built for Citrix that deliver HDX experience cost-effectively.

The new N-series devices supports Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp and Citrix VDI-in-a-Box deployments and the devices will help organisations to extend their Citrix desktop virtualisation deployments.

The two thin clients, N400 and N500, were designed for specific classes of users, said the company.

The N400 is designed for task workers and provides video resolution up to 1920×1080 with on-board graphics acceleration, 10/100 Ethernet connectivity, and enhanced HD multimedia experience with 720p server-side video rendering.

N500 is aimed at knowledge workers and those with higher-end applications. It adds enhanced multimedia with full HD 1080p client-side rendering, 10/100/1000 Ethernet connectivity, and options for dual monitor and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Both N400 and N500 support smart card readers and other USB 2.0 peripherals. All devices are managed with the new NComputing vSpace Management Center, allowing an IT organisation to deploy, operate, and manage a variety of devices across a distributed organisation.

The new N-series devices incorporate NComputing’s own third-generation Numo 3 System-on-Chip based on an ARM A9 Dual Core that delivers enhanced performance.
