MuleSoft releases Mule Data Integrator for data mapping and transformation

Claims to simplify data integration and transformation tasks

By CBR Staff Writer

MuleSoft has released Mule Data Integrator, which it claims to simplify data integration and transformation tasks. It is integrated with open source enterprise service bus, Mule ESB, providing users with an infrastructure for application integration and SOA.

With Data Integrator’s intuitive eclipse-based graphical designer, non-technical personnel can create data maps, leveraging its support for sample documents and capture of specification descriptions, the company said.

According to MuleSoft, the Data Integrator complements ESB’s flexibility in messaging formats, providing a data transformation service that supports a variety of structured and unstructured data. It includes mapping functionality with support for multiple data formats and schemas.

In addition, the new product also includes developer productivity features, including document import/export, incremental map execution, and visualisation of example instance documents.

Ken Yagen, senior director of engineering at MuleSoft, said: “Data integration problems often require developers to perform complex data mapping and transformation tasks. Creating, testing, and maintaining these maps manually in code is extremely time-consuming and is costly to manage and support over time. Mule Data Integrator dramatically simplifies these tasks, and its graphical designer makes it accessible even to non-technical business analysts.

“With Mule Data Integrator, enterprises can now solve their tough data integration problems much more quickly and with less maintenance overhead than ever before.”
