Movideo to migrate its video platform to Windows Azure

New alliance includes a pricing agreement, technical support and sales and marketing backing

By CBR Staff Writer

Software as a Service (SaaS) online video platform Movideo has signed a four-year agreement with Microsoft to migrate its integrated online video platform to Windows Azure.

The transformation of Movideo’s integrated online video platform to Windows Azure will expand its business growth across Asia Pacific (APAC) and beyond.

The agreement also includes a pricing agreement, technical support and sales and marketing backing.

Movideo is owned by the ASX-listed MCM Entertainment Group (MEG), a media production company that offers premium content creation delivered across radio, digital, television and event.

Movideo MEG CEO and founder Tony McGinn said the global alliance with Microsoft will enable Windows Azure to become the infrastructure platform for MEG’s cloud software as a service product.

"The strong road map for Windows Azure resources the scalable infrastructure that underpins the Movideo offering, allowing us to get on with our role of optimising the management and delivery of our customers’ great content. Second, the alliance is about sales and marketing support and coordination to drive growth for Movideo and Windows Azure," said McGinn.

Movideo chief technology officer Cameron Moore said migrating to Windows Azure enables Movideo to take the advantage of the added services that Windows Azure provides beyond just being infrastructure and accelerating its development road map of product features for media customers with assurances that the scalability and redundancy of the back-end infrastructure are taken care of.
