MontaVista Software claims that it helps embedded developers get more out of open source by adding commercial quality, integration, hardware enablement, expert support, and the resources of the MontaVista development community.

MontaVista provides a commercial quality Linux platform for mobile device manufacturers. According to the company, MontaVista Linux demonstrates support of and integration with all major Linux mobile software stacks. Certified as being ready for IPv6, it provides support for new mobile device processors from Freescale Semiconductor, Intel, Texas Instruments and others.

Bertholdt said: MontaVista Linux is a mature, mobile device platform that is in use today in the majority of production mobile devices based on Linux.
