The mobile encryption software and services market is expected to reach a total of $230m by the end of 2013, according to a report from ABI Research.
According to ABI, mobile security services including authentication and encryption are growing due to the increase in cloud-based applications and BYOD adoption by companies.
The report states that organisations are seeking ways to capitalise from the new technologies as well as maintain a level of security to offer protection to corporate resources.
Encryption is expected to play a key role in VPN services, as well as protection of data and applications, while the service models are expected to allow integration with corporate resources as well as competitive MDM or MAM product offerings.
During 2013, the market is expected to provide opportunities for security vendors and MDM service providers, while manufacturers are waiting to view persistent demands before investing.
The mobile network operators are expected to struggle to gain profits during the year, as they lack the ability to use their substantial advantages.
