Mimosa has announced an integration between Mimosa NearPoint and NetApp storage and data management offerings. The combined offering provides archiving, storage management and data protection for Microsoft Exchange environments.
According to Mimosa, the NearPoint archive leverages NetApp’s snapshot technology as the source for archived data and the compliant archival of data capture for the exchange database transactions and events. In addition, it offers application data management for Microsoft Exchange, which automates complex, manual, and time consuming processes associated with the backup, recovery, and verification of exchange server.
Mimosa NearPoint also offers integration with other NetApp technologies, including NetApp SnapManager for SQL Server, SnapDrive SnapMirror, and FlexVol. The combined offering also centralises the management of disaster recovery and retention policies while streamlining overall storage management processes for email, calendar information, IMS and files.
Patrick rogers, vice president of solutions marketing at NetApp, said: “Today’s business users rely on Microsoft Exchange as a business-critical application. As a result, uncontrolled email growth can be crippling to IT budgets. Together, NetApp and Mimosa are working to deliver deeper integration to curtail the spiraling management costs IT organisations face in storing, retaining, retrieving, and recovering Exchange data.”
