It can sometimes be very difficult for users to figure out exactly what operating system they are using. Offical support for Windows XP ended today, 8 April. Microsoft first alerted users to this date back in 2007, but there are still some UK organisations that have had to get an emergency custom support agreement to carry on being secure until 2015. Without security support, machines running Windows XP could now be vulnerable to hackers using malware and viruses.
