Microsoft has reportedly planned to offer its Xbox, PC games for Apple’s iPhone and other Android powered smartphone platforms, through its latest acquisition of Japanese smartphone game maker Klab.

Following the acquisition, Klab will develop mobile versions of Microsoft’s Xbox and Windows-based computer games and add them to Apple’s devices and smartphones using Google Android OS via a licensing deal.

By late 2013, Klab will introduce mobile version of Microsoft’s ‘Age of the Empires’ as a free-to-play game globally on smartphones, according to Nikkei.

The game will be released globally in English for iPhones and Android-based phones, with future launch expected in other languages and on a Windows Phone.

Recently, Microsoft dumped two policies, which were intended for it upcoming Xbox One gaming console, which will now no longer require users to have a n internet connection for every 24 hours.

The new Xbox One gaming console and entertainment system is expected to be launched in November 2013 in 21 countries.
