Microsoft has released Windows 10 insider preview for both PCs and phones.

The tech giant says that the new build will have some new features including one of the most requested features, extensions for Microsoft Edge.

The company said that Windows 10 mobile is being rolled out to select Windows 8.1 mobile phones.

Some of these mobiles include Lumia 550, 650, 950, 950 XL, Xiaomi Mi4, and Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL among others.

Microsoft has also given a list of devices that can be eligible to get Windows 10 updates as part of Windows Insider Program.

In this insider preview, Microsoft has added extension support for Edge browser. A user can download these extensions directly from updated Microsoft Edge by going to the top right corner and clicking on "More" and clicking on "extensions".

Thee extensions include mouse gestures, Microsoft Translator and Reddit Enhancement Suite extensions.

The company says that these are the present extensions and more extensions are on the way. At present, these extensions are only available for PC and not for mobile devices.

Apart from extensions, Microsoft has also introduced certain other features for mobile phones

These include pinned tabs in Edge, paste and go, updated Maps app, updated alarm clock, Japanese one-handed Kana touch keyboard, Japanese lined-mode text input canvas and input feedback hub.

Now, a user can pin favourite or most visited tabs in Edge so that these tabs will open every time a user opens Edge browser.

The new paste and go feature enables a user to directly search about something by just copying and pasting it and selecting ‘paste and search’.

Maps app has also been updated. Now the app is more lightweight, scalable and has a consistent UI. Additional features in maps include one handed use, can view multiple directions and searches at the same time, user can use labels to identify maps results, Cortana can give turn by turn directions.

Alarm and clock app has also been updated to provide inline time picker, improved design for creating and editing alarms and timers.

Those who use Japanese text-typing, can now do it with one hand on their mobile device.

Japanese lined-mode text input canvas provides natural input for users entering Japanese text. Now, the user can edit written characters by striking them out or modifying them.

Feedback hub is a new feature being introduced in both PC and mobile. With this app, one can find and upvote feedback items or apps or give some new feedback. The user can also find new updates in the app.

Apart from these new features, Microsoft has also fixed certain bugs and/ or issues in both PC and mobile operating system (OS) and has also listed certain known issues for both PC and mobile OS, which Microsoft is currently working on.
