Microsoft has organised a media event on 30th September in San Francisco, which is expected to give a technical preview of its upcoming Windows 9.
The invitations sent out says: "Join us to hear about what’s next for Windows and the Enterprise."
The next generation of Windows OS is expected to be a unified operating system, which would work across all of its devices, and several leaked information about the upcoming Windows 9 has surfaced till now.
The new OS is expected restore the iconic Start Menu and a unified notification in the lower right corner of the screen, which would appear when the taskbar button is clicked.
Reports suggest that the notification centre will be similar to that Apple’s OS X, where users can see all the notifications and close all them at a time or one by one.
If the company releases a preview, the final version of the OS might eventually be different, as it would make improvements and changes based on the feedback it gets from developers.
