Microsoft brings native folder support with Windows Phone 8.1 update

Windows 8.1 will allow users to create folders by dragging and dropping one tile over the other.

By CBR Staff Writer

Software giant Microsoft will bring its first set of updates to Windows Phone 8.1, incorporating features already common to Android and iOS devices, according to the Verge.

The main upgrade will let Windows 8.1 users create folders by dragging and dropping one tile over the other.

Microsoft will also upgrade its voice assistant Cortana, integrating speech functions with users’ vehicles, and introduce support for the 1280 X 800 screen resolution, along with dual SIM capability for the GSM +CDMA network support.

It also plans to include support for Voice over LTE and the network time protocol.

The 8.1 update will allow interactive cases to wake up the phone when the case is open and display information even when the screen is covered by the case, a feature which is already present in some devices.
