Microsoft has changed its decision to keep Office 2013 locked to a single PC for life and now allows users to transfer the license to another PC every 90 days.
Microsoft senior marketing manager, Jevon Fark, said, "This means customers can transfer Office 2013 to a different computer if their device fails or they get a new one," Fark said.
"Previously, customers could only transfer their Office 2013 software to a new device if their PC failed under warranty."
Additionally, the company will update the license agreement accompanying Office 2013 software in the future and the changes will immediately apply to Office Home and Student 2013, Office Home and Business 2013, Office Professional 2013 and standalone Office 2013 applications.
Microsoft released Office 2013 suite to the general public in January 2013, after releasing it to business customers in December 2012.
The new Office 2013 offers a touch friendly design that emphasises social media, reading, note-taking, meetings and communications. It is also more cloud-based, as documents can be saved in Microsoft’s SkyDrive.
