Memex, a provider of intelligence management and data integration services, has signed a new agreement with the Belize Ministry of National Security, for the deployment of Memex software and services at the country’s nine national security agencies to counter violent gang activity, trans-border crimes and human trafficking.

Memex will provide an enterprise license covering each Belize national security agency, including the Belize City Crime Investigation Branch, the Belize City Patrol Branch, Special Branch, Immigration, Coast Guard, Customs Investigations Unit, the Belize Defense Force Military Investigations, Transportation and Prisons.

Belize is using the Memex platform for intelligence management, records management, booking and custody, search and analysis, and geographic information, an end-to-end data system.

Lloyd Gillett, CEO of the Ministry of National Security and a retired brigadier general, said: We quickly saw the value of this initial deployment and started using the Memex solution for many other initiatives within our Ministry. Later, we determined that the Memex system was robust enough to support our entire national security infrastructure, so we purchased an enterprise license and expanded the system so that all members of our security community can use it.
