Mediware Information Systems, a provider of ClosedLoop blood and medication management softwares, has announced that it has decided to acquire substantially all the assets of Atlanta-based healthcare performance management software company SciHealth.
SciHealth develops and markets Insight, a business and clinical intelligence software package designed to enable healthcare institutions to deliver various services. Insight includes configurable tools that enable healthcare institutions to monitor, measure and analyse more than 1000 key clinical and financial performance indicators.
Mediware expects that the acquisition would complement its software products and add a performance management solution to its healthcare segment.
Thomas Mann, president and chief executive officer of Mediware, said: “The Insight software has proven to be very effective in helping healthcare providers actively manage performance and improve the overall efficiency of their organisations.
“The Insight software has an excellent reputation with its customers, is built on very robust technology, and has compelling functionality that addresses critical clinical, financial and regulatory requirements.”
The transaction is expected to complete in the second half of 2009.
