McAfee has unveiled the Total Protection Service, its new Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering that provides always-on guard protection in on-premise infrastructure. It provides integrated endpoint, email and web protection with access to SecurityCenter, an online console managed by McAfee.
McAfee claims that its Total Protection Service simplifies business security by automating updates and upgrades, and reduces operational costs, ongoing maintenance and support. McAfee customers are expected to recognise cost savings of up to 50% on average with SaaS delivery options.
According to McAfee, the new service, like the entire McAfee SaaS portfolio, is powered by real-time Global Threat Intelligence assemble by McAfee Avert Labs and utilises the McAfee Artemis and TrustedSource cloud-based technologies. These technologies allow McAfee SaaS applications to update as new threats occur, without the need for onsite administration.
The company said that the new version includes integrated endpoint protection (anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall), SiteAdvisor web security, web filtering and vulnerability scanning features. Access to the SecurityCenter management console allows administrators to enhance visibility and management with customised dashboards of their security environment.
In addition, the Partner Security Service program, along with the web-based Partner SecurityDashboard, provides the applications for order administration and remote management of Total Protection Service. The Partner SecurityDashboard allows partners license management and remote visibility of their managed customers.
Marc Olesen, senior vice president and general manager of McAfee Software-as-a-Service, said: “With this release, we’re broadening our SaaS offerings to enterprise customers. While small and mid-size businesses are very familiar with Total Protection Service, larger companies are realising the benefits of SaaS in helping them reduce operating costs while strengthening their security controls.”
