Security giant McAfee has announced that David Quantrell has joined the company as president of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Quantrell joins the company from HP, where he was president of HP Software. Quantrell will report to Michael DeCesare, executive vice president of worldwide sales for McAfee.
DeCesare said: “David has solid track record of growth with global companies that makes him an excellent addition to our team. His reputation for building and managing strong partnerships with companies and the channel will prove invaluable as we continue to drive sales in this important part of the world.”
During his days at HP, Quantrell doubled the software business to over $1bn and managed a sales team of over 1,000. He had a strong emphasis on developing channel partnerships and managed the integration of various companies, including Mercury Interactive.
Quantrell used to work for Mercury Interactive, also as EMEA President, and systems and security management company NETIQ, where he served as vice president and general manager. He has also held positions at Nortel Networks and Clarify.
Quantrell said: “I’m looking forward to helping McAfee continue to establish itself as the clear market leader for security in EMEA. With dedication and hard work, I firmly believe that we will make 2009 a great year.”
He will work alongside former EMEA president Mike Dalton with the aim of transitioning into the role by the end of Q1.
