Computer security company McAfee has upgraded its comprehensive security management offering — McAfee Security Management.

McAfee, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel, said that the enhanced security management offering provides automated and real-time security and risk analytics to identify, assess, manage and report on enterprise security.

The McAfee Security Management tool delivers complete integration between the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (McAfee ePO) platform, McAfee Risk Advisor, and McAfee endpoint products. This integration allows organisations to gain complete visibility of security and risk events across any on-premise or hosted desktop, network, or server, said McAfee.

Some of the enhancements include: complete visibility into security posture, proactive risk analytics and simplified, automated operations.

The enhanced offering leverages the latest version of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator to provide complete alignment and visibility of critical security and risk events across the entire IT environment.

The risk analytics is enabled by McAfee Risk Advisor. It helps organisations to proactively analyse how changes to their business environment impact their risk and security profile.

Comprehensive automation capabilities include automated installation and configuration wizards, policy assignments and workflow, drag-and-drop analytic dashboards, and software update notifications, as well as automated web APIs.

McAfee Risk and Compliance general manager Stuart McClure said security and risk management now has C-level visibility within the business, and internal and external stakeholders are holding IT departments accountable for managing risk.

McClure added, "An effective security management program isn’t possible with manual or reactive methods. McAfee Security Management allows users to proactively identify, manage, and automatically report on their security and risk profile in order to stay ahead of security threats."
